LENBACH AT MUNICH PALACE

Axel was approached by Udo Landau from Act Art in Germany, a world-renowned event and productions company, and offered his first international exhibition at the prestigious Lenbach in Munich Palace. The grandiose Lenbach at Munich Palace is the perfect setting for Axel's lifesize paintings with its interior of Asian wood carvings mingle with colonial furniture against a backdrop of imposing Greek columns. Lenbach is a bar and restaurant housed in a nineteenth century Munich Palace.

Conran&Partners interior design used a narrative concept based on the seven deadly sins, a scheme fitting both the history of the building and the fin de siécle atmosphere. Conran&Partners managed to by create a scheme that is appropriate simultaneously to its historical setting and the informal, twenty-first century café society in which it exists.
